Is it permissible for a menstruating woman to enter the Grand Mosque (Al-Masjid al-Haram) without reaching the Kaaba's courtyard or the circumambulation area (mataf), and suffice with sitting near the gates or in the Sa'i area to supplicate and wait for her companions?

Scholars have differed regarding the ruling on a menstruating woman entering the mosque, and the preponderant opinion is that it is impermissible. Al-Masjid al-Haram is like other mosques in this ruling; in fact, it is more deserving of this prohibition. This includes everything that falls under the designation of Al-Masjid al-Haram, such as the areas inside the doors and the area between the Mas'a and the courtyard. As for what is not part of the mosque, such as the Mas'a between Safa and Marwa, it is permissible for a menstruating woman to enter it, because Sa'i is prescribed for her, as stated in the Hadith of Aisha: "Perform all the rituals of Hajj... except that you do not circumambulate the House."
