Was the woman who offered herself to the Prophet (peace be upon him) unveiled?

It is not permissible to use the hadith of the woman who offered herself to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, as evidence for the permissibility of a woman uncovering her face. This is because it is permissible to look at a woman one intends to propose to, or because this incident occurred before the imposition of the hijab.
