Does one who masturbated during the daytime in Ramadan, and is now remorseful and unable to inform his parents or perform the three expiations, have to make up for the day (qada') and offer expiation (kaffarah)?

Masturbation is forbidden at all times, and its prohibition intensifies during Ramadan, especially during the daytime, due to its consequence of invalidating the fast. If semen is ejaculated due to masturbation, the fast is invalidated, and one must make up that day. Expiation (kaffarah) is not required for invalidating the fast by masturbation; it is only required for sexual intercourse. Sincere repentance to Allah Almighty for this act is obligatory.
