The question

Is the husband sinful for sitting with his expatriate friends in their gathering where they watch television—including programs about actors’ lives and Arab and foreign films—or is he sinful for making tea for them, knowing that they pray when the time for prayer comes?

The answer

If what your husband watches contains something forbidden, it is not permissible for him to watch it or to attend gatherings where it is present. He must denounce it according to his ability. If he finds something objectionable, he must denounce it to them. It is permissible for him to remain with them on the condition that he neither hears nor sees the objectionable act.

As for making tea for them, it is permissible unless his refusal to make it for them would cause them to abandon the objectionable act, in which case he must refuse.

He is advised to look after them, encourage them to obey Allah, do good deeds, and not fall short in supplicating for them.
