What is the ruling on a person's discomfort upon hearing a verse that speaks of death, such as His, the Almighty's, saying: "Every soul shall taste death"?

A person's discomfort with the mention of death is not characteristic of believers who take heed and remember death and prepare for it, which motivates them to repent and increase their acts of obedience. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, encouraged frequent remembrance of death, and described those who remember it often and prepare for it as the most intelligent of people. The remembrance of death deters one from sins, softens the heart, removes attachment to worldly joys, trivializes calamities, and honors its possessor by hastening repentance, contentment of heart, and vigor in worship. Conversely, forgetting it leads to procrastination in repentance, dissatisfaction with sufficiency, and laziness in worship.
