Make no excuse; you have disbelieved after your belief." It is not permissible to tell jokes about the Qur'an, as it is too sublime to be treated as a subject for laughter, frivolity, and falsehood. One must be wary of the afflictions of the tongue, for a word can plunge its utterer into the Hellfire, as mentioned in the Prophetic traditions. Joking with disbelief is disbelief by the consensus of scholars; there is no disagreement that jesting with disbelief is disbelief.
