What is the ruling on an emotional relationship with a married woman, and how can one break free from it and its consequences, and what are the limits of permissible relationships in Islamic law with female relatives?

A love relationship with a married woman is among the most egregious forbidden acts, and if it leads to zina (fornication/adultery), the sin is immense. To break free from this relationship, one must cut off the woman and sever all paths leading to her. It is even better to leave the country if possible. Then, sincere repentance, devotion to Allah, abundant good deeds, avoidance of places of temptation, and bad company are necessary.

Regarding relationships with female relatives: 1. Maharim (unmarriageable kin): Such as a sister, paternal aunt, maternal aunt, niece (brother's daughter), and their counterparts through suckling. It is permissible to see their face, extremities, and what is normally exposed, without lust, but not what is usually concealed. 2. Non-mahram (unrelated women): Such as paternal cousins and maternal cousins. It is not permissible to see anything of them, nor to be in seclusion with them. One must lower the gaze and be cautious about entering upon them or being in seclusion with them.
