Is it permissible to wear a watch on the right hand on the pretext of seeking blessing (tiyammun) and because the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) encouraged it?
There is no harm in wearing a watch on the right or left hand, and a man may choose the left hand for it. The watch is similar to a ring, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, wore a ring on both of his hands. Wearing it on the left is easier in terms of winding and looking at it, and safer because the right hand is more active. The matter in this regard is broad, and it cannot be said that the Sunnah is to wear it on the right.
