What is the ruling on changing one's specialization from Tafsir and Hadith to Usul al-Fiqh in order to achieve better job opportunities, after the change has already occurred?

It is permissible to seek sacred knowledge with the intention of obtaining a job, provided that the primary intention is to seek Allah's pleasure and draw closer to Him. However, if the original intention is solely for worldly gain, then this is forbidden, and a stern warning has been issued concerning it.
