Is it permissible for a son to leave mixed-gender university studies when only one year remains until his graduation, especially since it is possible to lower the gaze, and given that his mother spent all her money on him?

The son is commended for his commitment to uprightness and chastity, and he is prayed for success and protection. The parents are advised to frequently supplicate for their son, for a parent's supplication for their child is answered. If there is a university free from mixing, that is preferable; otherwise, there is no harm in him remaining in his current university if the harm from transferring is greater, especially if he has only one year left and the costs of his studies have already been incurred.

The son must strive to avoid causes of temptation, keep company with the righteous, and limit himself to attending lectures and leaving immediately after they conclude. We are in need of righteous individuals like him to serve the Ummah, so he must fear Allah as much as he can. The son is also advised to be keen on pleasing his parents, for in the parents' pleasure lies the Lord's pleasure.
