What is the ruling on leaving money found in the street out of piety, despite knowing the ruling on lost-and-found items (Luqata)?

The original ruling concerning picking up a lost item (Luqata) is permissibility. However, this ruling may change depending on the condition of the finder, the place, and the lost item itself.

1. Obligation (Wujoob): If there is a fear of the lost item being squandered or falling into the hands of traitors. 2. Recommendation (Istihbaab): If the finder is trustworthy and feels secure about the item. 3. Disliking (Karaaha): If the finder fears betraying the trust regarding the item. 4. Prohibition (Tahrim): If the finder knows they will betray the trust regarding the item. 5. Preference (Leaving it): If there is no fear of the item being squandered, or if the finder fears being unable to publicize it (for its owner).

As for a trivial lost item (one that people of average status do not care about), it is permissible to take it and benefit from it without publicizing it.
