Is it permissible for my husband to divorce me because I am infertile, knowing that he was aware of this fact?

Divorce is inherently disliked, as Allah Almighty says: (And if they resolve on divorce, then indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing) and His saying: (And if you dislike them - perhaps you dislike a thing and Allah makes therein much good). It becomes permissible out of necessity, and the dislike is removed when there is a need, such as the husband's inability to endure his wife, or his desire for children while his wife is barren and he cannot marry another. Islamic law has indicated the permissibility of divorce for a need, and that it becomes permissible in such circumstances. The husband knowing of his wife's barrenness beforehand does not prevent this.
