When may a woman in her 'iddah wear new clothes or gold? Is it on the tenth day after the four months, or on the day that follows?

The free woman whose husband has died observes an iddah (waiting period) of four months and ten nights, by their days, and her iddah does not end except with the completion of the tenth day. This is the view of the majority of scholars. When this period concludes, it becomes permissible for her to wear new clothes and adorn herself.
