Is it Islamic for a woman to feed people and buy a new dress after her iddah ends?

We have not come across any statement from the people of knowledge (scholars) regarding the obligation for a woman observing 'iddah (waiting period) to feed people or to buy and wear a new garment. Accordingly, believing in the permissibility of such actions and performing them after the 'iddah ends is an innovated bid'ah.
