The age of Luqman's son when his father admonished him was not mentioned because the Qur’an and left it ambiguous. One should not ask about what the Qur’an has left ambiguous and the Sunnah has not clarified, because no great benefit results from it. And "if knowledge of it were beneficial, Allah -the Mighty and Majestic- would have clarified it for His servants."
