Why do people hate me when I love them?

A Muslim who finds aversion and dislike from people should examine himself, for the reason might be his negligence in performing obligatory duties, committing prohibitions, or not embodying the virtuous Islamic ethics. A righteous Muslim who excels in his work and treats people kindly is beloved by Allah and accepted by people. If this is the case, he should thank Allah for it and ask for more. In this situation, he should not feel sorry for those who disliked him or were displeased with him, as prophets, callers to Islam, and reformers were disliked before. The questioner is advised to excel in his work and with people, and to maintain obligatory and supererogatory acts of worship.
