Does the Hadith "A strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than a weak believer" contradict the Hadith "Perhaps a dishevelled, dust-covered person, were he to swear by Allah, Allah would fulfill his oath"? And does a mistaken understanding of the Hadith about the strong believer, which leads to harming Muslims, contradict "A Muslim is one from whose tongue and hand the Muslims are safe"?

The meaning of "the strong believer" in the first hadith (prophetic tradition) refers to strength in resolve regarding matters of the Hereafter, such as undertaking Jihad, enjoining good and forbidding evil, enduring hardships for the sake of Allah, and striving in acts of worship. As for the second hadith, it describes a dishevelled man, turned away from doors, whom people pay no attention to, yet if he were to swear by Allah, Allah would fulfill his oath, due to his great status with Allah. There is no contradiction between the two hadiths; for the praised strength is strength in obedience to Allah, and the praised weakness is tenderness of character and heart, whereas the blameworthy strength is tyranny and arrogance, and the blameworthy weakness is weakness of resolve in upholding the truth.
