Is it permissible to love Christians while hating their distorted religion, and if not, then how is it permissible to marry their women given the existence of affection and love between spouses?

Loving and befriending disbelievers is of degrees, three of which pertain to a specific disbeliever:

1. Befriending and loving a disbeliever for his disbelief: This is an act of disbelief (kufr). 2. Loving him, showing him affection, and honoring him solely for worldly reasons: This is forbidden and a reprehensible type of befriending. 3. Showing him affection and kindness due to kinship or for a favor he rendered, in the case of non-combatants: This is permissible, provided that the hatred for his state of disbelief remains.
