Is it permissible to seek divorce or annulment from a sterile husband whose morals and behavior have deteriorated, given the fear of not remarrying and the husband's psychological state?

If the husband is infertile, the wife has the right to seek divorce or khulʿ (a type of divorce initiated by the wife). She will receive immense reward if she perseveres. The majority of scholars are of the opinion that infertility is not a defect that nullifies the marriage, while others believe it is, as it negates the primary purpose of marriage, such as procreation. The nullification of marriage must be done through the court, and its ruling resolves the dispute. The wife is not permitted to bring an orphan into the marital home without her husband's permission. It is advisable to consult wise individuals and perform Istikhara (prayer for guidance) before deciding on divorce.
