How do we invite secularists and liberals [to Islam]?

The best method for inviting people is what is mentioned in the Almighty's saying: "Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good counsel, and argue with them in the best of ways." Here, each group is invited according to what suits its condition: wisdom for those who know the truth and act upon it; good counsel for those who know the truth but whose lower selves contradict it; and arguing in the best of ways for those who oppose the truth. الدعاة (callers to Islam) must be familiar with the reality of the doctrines held by those they are inviting, and know the extent of the invitee's conviction in them, then use the appropriate da'wah (invitational) discourse. Many adherents of liberal and secular thought do not know the reality of Islam and its comprehensiveness. This necessitates clarifying the virtues of the religion and its perfection, and the legislative and ethical miracles it contains, and that the advantages of liberal thought are found in Islam in a better form.
