Is it forbidden to lick or taste human blood when a person is wounded?
Human blood and other shed blood are ritually impure (najāsa) and Islamically forbidden. Allah has associated it with carrion and the flesh of swine. Licking blood is abhorrent to sound human nature (fiṭra) and a sane mind; it is characteristic of predatory animals, and a Muslim is not permitted to imitate them. A mere desire to taste it does not justify such an act, and one fears for the individual who does so, lest their innate nature becomes corrupted.
