What is the ruling on a woman traveling with other women to attend her maternal cousin's daughter's wedding, knowing that she will remain alone at home if she does not travel, and that she does not feel safe from the entry of strange men into her maternal cousin's house due to intermingling?

The majority of scholars hold that it is impermissible for a woman to travel without a mahram, except out of necessity. Attending a wedding does not fall under this category. However, if a woman fears for herself by remaining alone and cannot find a mahram, then there is no harm in her traveling with a trustworthy group (rufqa ma'muna). If there is unregulated mixing (of genders) in her aunt's house that is not in accordance with Islamic law, she should not participate in it. Rather, she must be modest, veiled, and avoid situations of suspicion.
