What is the ruling regarding a wife's refusal to visit her husband's family, and what is the right of the husband's parents over the wife?

A wife is obligated to obey her husband in everything that does not involve disobedience to Allah. The Lawgiver (Shari') has urged the wife to obey her husband and emphasized this, as the prophetic hadiths mention that obeying the husband is a cause for entering Paradise, that a woman does not fulfill all of Allah's rights upon her until she fulfills her husband's rights, and that angels curse a woman who refuses her husband's bed. Accordingly, the wife must visit her husband's family whenever he calls upon her, unless it causes her harm in her religion or honor. Maintaining a good relationship between the wife and her husband's family is part of living together honorably and increases her favor with her husband.
