Scholars have differed regarding the nature of defects that must be disclosed. The majority of jurists restrict them to defects that impede intercourse, or repulsive and contagious diseases. While Ibn Al-Qayyim and Ibn 'Uthaymeen hold that a defect is anything that does not achieve the purpose of marriage.
