Is it permissible to pray in a distant mosque for the sake of comfort, despite the presence of a closer mosque that causes distress due to the abundance of hypocrites?

We do not know how the questioner learned of the multitude of hypocrites in the mosque near him, and issuing such a judgment is not possible except with clear evidence. As for abandoning prayer in a nearby mosque and going to a distant one, there is no harm in it. If it is for a legitimate purpose, such as attaining devotion (khushu') or a larger congregation, then it is more preferable and better.
