Is it permissible for an engaged girl, after the marriage contract (aqd al-qiran) but before consummation (ad-dukhool), to meet her fiancé secretly without the knowledge of her parents who object to the meeting?

Once the legal marriage contract (aqd) is concluded, the woman becomes a wife, and it becomes permissible for her husband to do with her what is permissible for a man to do with his wife, including sexual intercourse and privacy (khalwa). The assertion that it is impermissible for a husband to be in privacy with his wife before the wedding is incorrect. It is permissible for a woman to be in privacy with her husband and to speak with him. However, if it is customary for this not to occur until after the wedding, it is preferable to adhere to this custom, especially if it is the wish of the family, in order to avoid problems. It should be noted that the woman's guardian has the right to prevent the husband from consummating the marriage until he receives the prompt (mu'ajjal) part of the dowry.
