Am I sinning by helping my brother financially whenever he asks, with my wife and son knowing, and does this constitute a breach of their rights? Should I continue helping or stop?

Helping needy relatives is an act of charity and maintaining kinship ties, and it is among the best deeds, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Charity given to a poor person is one charity, but charity given to a relative is two: charity and maintaining kinship ties." It is not necessary to inform the wife or seek her permission when helping a brother. However, if helping the brother results in harm to the wife and son due to insufficient income, then their obligatory expenses take precedence over the commendable act of helping the brother.
