What is the ruling on acting if it is free of Sharia-forbidden elements, and is the Hadith "Allah cursed the man who imitates the life of a man" authentic?

The permissibility of acting is conditioned upon its freedom from শরী'আ-prohibited elements. The Hadith of 'Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "I do not like that I imitate a human being, even if I were to have such and such," indicates the prohibition of acting that is based on imitation, mimicry, and impersonating others, because it falls under the category of forbidden backbiting, and falsehood is its foundation. Others hold the view that the blameworthy imitation mentioned in the Hadith is the imitation of a specific person in something they dislike, such as mocking their appearance.
