Is it forbidden to imitate in dress the wicked, hypocrite, or disobedient Muslims?

The Hadith: "Whoever imitates a people is one of them" means that whoever imitates disbelievers, or the wicked, or evildoers, or the people of Sufism and the righteous, is one of them in sin or in good. The blameworthy imitation is doing what is specific to the people of disbelief, wickedness, and disobedience. As for what the wicked wear of clothing that is not specific to them, it is not forbidden to wear it. And the hypocrites are not distinguished by a specific attire because they outwardly display Islam.
