Nations that worshipped other than Allah were polytheistic, and this was the state of most previous nations. Satan beautified their deeds for them and their imitation of their forefathers led them to polytheism. Allah will not question a Muslim about the polytheism of those nations, and he should be keen to acquire religious knowledge and occupy his time with what benefits him.
