To what extent is the statement valid that the 99 Beautiful Names of Allah include incorrect names, such as "Al-Muntaqim" (The Avenger) derived from "Dhu Intiqam" (Possessor of Vengeance), or names derived from what follows "Dhu," such as "Dhu al-Jalal wa al-Ikram" (Possessor of Majesty and Honor)?

Allah's names are more than ninety-nine. The proof for this is the Prophet's supplication (peace be upon him): "I ask You by every Name belonging to You by which You have named Yourself, or revealed in Your Book, or taught to any of Your creation, or kept hidden in the knowledge of the Unseen with You." Scholars have differed on the authenticity of the Tirmidhi hadith which mentions the beautiful names of Allah, including "al-Muntaqim" (The Avenger) and "Dhul-Jalali wal-Ikram" (Possessor of Majesty and Honor). Some have authenticated it, while others considered it mudraj (interpolated). Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen held the view that the hadith is mudraj and that the name "al-Muntaqim" is not among the established names of Allah. Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah was of the opinion that "al-Muntaqim" is not among the beautiful names of Allah established from the Prophet (peace be upon him), but rather it is mentioned in the Qur'an with a qualification.
