Is it permissible to reside in a mixed country, knowing that I cannot lower my gaze, and will I be held accountable for my actions?

Studying at a co-educational university is not permissible due to the Shariah-prohibited matters and trials it entails. Similarly, living in a country where indecency is widespread and adherence to Allah's commands is difficult is not permissible, unless relocation is impossible. In such a case, one must commit to obeying Allah and seek His help, knowing that environmental corruption does not justify falling into the forbidden.
