Do minor sins after adultery become tied to it, and does communicating with the woman with whom one committed adultery, without repeating the act, prevent the forgiveness of the sin?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

You have committed a grave sin, but if you repent sincerely, Allah Almighty will forgive you and erase the effect of the sin, and you will become as if you had never sinned, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The one who repents from sin is like one who has no sin."

Repent to your Lord truthfully, regret your sin, and increase in good deeds; for good deeds efface bad ones. And do not speak to this woman again, and avoid every means of contact with her, lest Satan draw you both into this sin once more.

Any sins you commit after your repentance will be held against you only, and you will not be held accountable for the sin from which you repented, because its effect has been removed by repentance. However, whenever you sin, you must repent and return to your Lord, for Allah accepts your repentance as long as you repent to Him and strive to remain steadfast in His law.
