If the television belongs to you, it must only be used for permissible things, and it is not allowed to compromise with family members in watching forbidden things, lest you fall into sin due to cooperation in sin and aggression.

If the television does not belong to you, then you must convince your family to stop using it for forbidden things and forbid them from evil.

As for the verse: ﴿So whoever wills – let him believe; and whoever wills – let him disbelieve﴾, it does not mean a choice between obedience and disobedience, but rather it is a severe threat and warning to the disbelievers.
