Is it permissible to fast for the expiation of an oath for three separate days?

The expiation for an oath is: feeding ten poor persons, or clothing them, or freeing a slave. Whoever cannot find any of these should fast for three days. One should not resort to fasting except when unable to perform the aforementioned acts. It is preferable to fast the three days consecutively to avoid disagreement and to hasten to good deeds.
