Is it permissible to wear a ring engraved with: "Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah"?

It is permissible to wear a silver ring, and it is a Sunnah, due to what was narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, wore a silver ring on his right hand. Scholars have also permitted wearing rings made of materials other than silver, though they differed on this. There is no harm in engraving "Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah" on a ring made of silver or any other permissible material for rings, as the prohibition mentioned regarding this was due to a reason that no longer exists.
