Is it permissible to pause at certain words in the Holy Quran and then resume reading without going back, even if there is no pause mark?

Firstly, it is essential to pause at the end of verses or complete meanings, and to avoid pausing between connected words or words that might alter the meaning. If one runs out of breath, there is no harm in pausing and then returning to a clear beginning of the meaning. It is not an obligatory religious duty to adhere strictly to the rules of pausing, unless the reciter intentionally makes a pause or a beginning that corrupts the meaning, such as starting with "and you" in His, the Almighty's, saying: "They expel the Messenger and you for believing in Allah, your Lord," or pausing at "is ashamed" in His saying: "Indeed, Allah is not ashamed to present an example of a mosquito."
