Is it permissible for the husband to sign a marital property list [qāʾimat manqūlāt zawjiyyah] for an amount greater than its actual value?

What is known as the "list of movables" is a documentation of the wife's right. Its details refer to the agreement between the husband and the wife's guardian regarding the dowry and furniture, which are matters approved by custom unless they violate the Sharia. Therefore, there is no objection to including items not purchased by the husband in the list if he agrees to it. The Permanent Committee has issued a fatwa permitting this to clarify what the husband paid in case of disagreement. The spouses should communicate to avoid obstacles.
