Which was revealed first: Verse 52 or Verse 58 of Surat Al-Ahzab, and is there in that an evidence for the niqab?

No mention of the order of revelation of the two verses has been made in the books of Quranic sciences. The default is that their revelation is ordered according to their arrangement in the Mushaf. The last verse indicates the command for women to wear the niqab, which covers the face, as interpreted by Ibn Abbas. There is no contradiction in this with Allah’s saying (and even if their beauty impresses you), as the Prophet’s admiration might have been based on information from his wives, or through permissible looking during courtship, and other reasons mentioned by the exegetes.
