Is it permissible for me to deal with a usurious bank for employment, especially since I live in a country where there are no Islamic banks, and I cannot leave my home alone to work in another country?
If an employee is compelled to open an account in a usurious bank, there is no sin upon them, provided they withdraw the money immediately and do not leave any amount in it, and dispose of the usurious interest by spending it on the welfare of Muslims or giving it as charity. It is permissible to work even if the salary is deposited in a usurious bank, if the woman is in need of work, provided the Islamic regulations for women's work are met. It is not permissible to reside in non-Muslim lands except out of necessity or urgent need, along with the ability to establish one's religion and its rituals. It is advised to go to the father if work is available that meets the Islamic regulations and preserves one's faith, and to overcome loneliness by befriending righteous women, and occupying time with acts of obedience and seeking knowledge.
