Is it permissible to write down the Friday sermon while the Imam is delivering it?

Whoever attends the Friday sermon must listen, and it is not permissible for him to do anything that would distract him or make him turn away from the preacher. The jurists have stipulated the impermissibility of writing during the sermon, without distinguishing between writing the sermon and other things. It may be said that writing the sermon is neither idle nor a turning away, but it might preoccupy the heart from being affected by the preacher. Therefore, it is better to refrain from it and engage with the heart in listening.
