ما هو شرح حديث: "لا يزني الزاني حين يزني وهو مؤمن"؟

The aforementioned hadith is authentic, and its meaning is: One does not commit these sins while possessing complete faith. This is among the phrases used to negate something, while intending to negate its perfection, like the saying: "There is no knowledge except what benefits." Scholars have interpreted the hadith in this sense due to the consensus of the people of truth that the adulterer, the thief, the murderer, and others who commit major sins short of shirk do not become disbelievers by doing so. Rather, they are believers with deficient faith. If they repent, their punishment is remitted. If they die persisting in the major sin, then their matter is subject to the will of Allah.
