1 min readAlso available in العربية

Indeed, Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Verily, the dearest of you to me and the closest of you to my assembly on the Day of Resurrection are those with the best character. And verily, the most hated of you to me and the furthest of you from my assembly on the Day of Resurrection are the Thartharun, the Mutashaddiqun, and the Mutafayhiqun." The "Mutashaddiq" has been interpreted as one who speaks excessively and coarsely to people, or one who scoffs at them, or one who twists his mouth to show off his eloquence and elaborates in speech without caution. The "Mutafayhiq" has been interpreted as the arrogant one, or one who fills his mouth with speech, elaborating on it to display his eloquence and to show superiority over others.
