What is your advice to a person who suffers from anxiety and overthinking, and is so affected by painful situations that he experiences insomnia and the choking difficulty in reading the Qur'an, and hates the teaching profession and is considering traveling and leaving his job and country in search of a comfortable job in his field?
We advise you to strengthen your faith by observing your duties and avoiding prohibitions, and by making the afterlife your sole concern. Seize the opportunity of your life, youth, and health, and utilize your job for da'wah (inviting to Islam) and guidance. Seek Allah's help through supplication (du'a) and remembrance (dhikr). Among the prophetic supplications are: "None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, the Most Great, the Forbearing...", "O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, in Your mercy I seek relief," and "O Allah, I am Your slave, the son of Your male slave...". If you feel distressed, take a short leave or visit a trustworthy friend, and do not leave your job unless for a better opportunity while keeping it. Refer to the book "Cure for Worries".
