Who is Ibn Sayyad and what is his story, especially since the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said about him to 'Umar, may Allah be pleased with him: "If he is the one, you will not be given power over him, and if he is not, there is no good for you in killing him"?

Ibn Sayyad, whose name was Abdullah ibn Sayyad, was a Jew who possessed many of the descriptions of the Antichrist (Dajjal), so much so that some Companions thought he was the Dajjal. He was born during the time of the Prophet, peace be upon him, blind in one eye and circumcised. The more accurate view is that he embraced Islam after the Prophet's death, peace be upon him, and what is confirmed is that he is not the Dajjal, because he died in Medina as a Muslim.
