Is it permissible for a wife to say to her husband, "Sayyid (Master of) men," or for a mother to say that to her son? And is it permissible for a man to say to his wife, "Sayyidat (Mistress of) women," or for a father to say that to his daughter? And does this constitute an insult to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and his wives?

There is no harm in a mother calling her son "master of men" (sayyid al-rijal) or a man telling his wife or daughter "mistress of women" (sayyidat al-nisa'), as the intention is to express optimism or courtesy. There is no disparagement in this towards the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, his mastership, or his wives.
