Should matters about which scholars differ be considered doubtful matters that must be avoided, or is it better to adopt the fatwa that brings peace to the heart and mind, taking into account the words of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Beware of doubtful matters"?

If there is a difference of opinions on an issue, you must research the evidence for each opinion and follow the strongest evidence. If you are unable to distinguish, then ask the people of knowledge, while avoiding fanaticism or seeking concessions and ambiguities. Whoever knows a Shar’i ruling whose evidence is established, and for which no تخصيص (specification), نسخ (abrogation), or معارضة (contradiction) is known, has no excuse for not following it. The disagreement among mujtahidin is not blameworthy; the one who is correct receives two rewards, and the one who errs receives one reward. Imam Al-Shafi’i said: “People are in agreement that whoever has a Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah made clear to him, it is not permissible for him to abandon it for the saying of anyone.” Division among Muslims results from ignorance, following desires, and turning away from the truth.
