What is the ruling on a relationship that involves parental tenderness between someone who has no parents and a man who has changed greatly towards them, and this relationship has caused a difficult situation?
If you have lost the affection of your parents and your heart became attached to a man who then turned away from you, you should turn away from thinking about him. He is not the only one in life, and there are other men whom you can befriend. You can choose the most suitable among them for your religious and worldly life. Know that friendships may cease, and if a person becomes attached to only one individual, they will spend their life in sorrow. To gain the love of people, be keen to please Allah, for in that lies the winning of the hearts of creation, as stated in the noble : "If Allah loves a servant, He calls Jibreel (Gabriel), saying: 'Indeed, Allah loves so-and-so, so love him.' So, Jibreel loves him, and Jibreel then calls out to the inhabitants of the heavens: 'Indeed, Allah loves so-and-so, so love him.' So, the inhabitants of the heavens love him, and then acceptance is placed for him on Earth."
