Circumambulation (Tawaf) is a great act of worship and a manifest ritual, and it has been legislated since the construction of the Kaaba. Regarding its virtue, it has been reported that it erases sins, records ten good deeds, and raises one's rank by ten degrees for whoever circumambulates seven times and prays two rak'ahs; that is equivalent to freeing a slave. Tawaf has been ordained for the establishment of the remembrance of Allah, and it is a prayer; therefore, one should minimize speech during it except for good.
