Is there any evidence to suggest that the Angel of Death is named Azrael?

The name of the Angel of Death, "Azrael," is not mentioned in the Holy Quran or in the authentic Sunnah of the Prophet. Rather, it is found in some narrations that may be from the Israʼiliyyat (stories of Jewish origin). Therefore, one should not assert or deny this name definitively. Instead, the matter should be entrusted to Allah Almighty, and he should be referred to as "Malak al-Mawt" (the Angel of Death), as Allah named him in His saying: (Say: "The Angel of Death, who has been entrusted with you, will take your souls; then to your Lord you will be returned.") [Surah As-Sajdah/11].
